Hello and Welcome!
A Seattle-based "Belly Nerd", Amira Jade is a believer in the magical power of dance, and its historical role in rebellious expression brings her continual delight and inspiration.
Initially pursuing bellydance as a means to heal from her C-section, Amira's love affair with this dance form began with her first class with Dona in Eugene. As a musician and former ballerina, she was intrigued by the complexities of Middle Eastern music and dance.
After dancing with old school/folkloric troupe An Noor for 2 years, Amira shifted her energy to personal growth via dance mentorship and competitions, studying with world-class dancers and instructors. Some of her most impactful dance inspirations and/or teachers have been Nadia Hamdi, Fifi Abdo, Dina, Tito, Sofinar, Shining, Joana Saahirah, and her primary dance mentor Razia Star. With her folkloric dance background, Amira Jade is particularly drawn to Egyptian Raqs Sharqi, Shaabi and Cairo Belady style bellydance.
A multiple award-winning dancer, Amira regularly performs with live bands at restaurants, shows, parties, weddings and cultural events throughout the Pacific Northwest. She specializes in balancing props, including dancing on top of a drum, candle tray, shamadan, & hookah dance, and always has tricks up her sleeve to delight and dazzle the crowd!
When not dancing, Amira Jade can be found slinging coffee at her local coffee shop, competing in and judging latte art competitions, training baristas, mom-ing her 10-year-old son, playing flute or nerding out on anything sci-fi, coffee or dance-related.
